Deerness Fencing was formed in 1976 by Michael Hogan, John and James Duffy. Based at Newhouse Farm, Esh Winning, the office was part of John Duffy's home.
In 1985 the Duffy brothers retired & Michael Hogan became Managing Director. The business was now a registered company with an annual turnover of £750k and a work force of approximately 50.
With a credible background in timber & fencing, Bob Wall joined the company in 1996 and has been the Managing Director since 1999.
Hard working, customer care and loyalty of employees have been the main reasons for the company’s growth. Deerness Fencing prides itself on having long term clients such as Yuill Homes, UK Coal and Local Authorities.
Deerness Fencing joined the Esh Group in 1999, remaining in its premises in Newhouse Farm until 2003 when it co-located with its sister companies and moved to the new headquarters at Bowburn.
